My name is Marjorie Sullivan and I am a World Cultural Studies major with a minor in Spanish. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and have served 8 years in the active duty Navy. I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Societies and plan to pursue a graduate degree in Linguistics. I plan to use what I learn in the Innovate Monarchs program and in my studies to gain a better understanding of the world and boost my knowledge in preparation for a career in Forensic Linguistics/Criminal Profiling.
Our team has the unique skill of being students. We are able to easily gain and receive feedback from other ODU students. This skill makes us special due to student response being a very important concept on a college campus. We care about connecting students because we understand how being ignored feels. Our team can use the different experiences of our members as well as the feedback from students to constantly ensure that the needs of the university and the students are aligned.
"Teamwork makes the dream work," and that's what our team is trying to accomplish with this project. If ODU and students work together, then that makes Old Dominion University a better campus for our students. Monarch Voice is trying to close the gap between students and administration. By having Monarch Voice involved, both sides are heard.
