Training students on how to use the design thinking method to organize and consolidate ideas. Creating a team of students who gather data and research different topics and deal with issues that the students and school face.
There is a disconnect between students and how decisions are made at ODU. This product helps build that connection where ODU and the students are connected in the decision-making process. Monarch Voice solves issues that need higher authorization from Old Dominion University. The team will provide student input to ODU faculty while also receiving feedback from the faculty. Stakeholders will have a way to communicate their thoughts and collect input on a larger scale and will be able to see change happen at a quicker, more efficient rate.
Monarch Voice closes the gap by ending the process of retrieving information from stakeholders indirectly. Polls and surveys are online and sent through email, but many students do not provide any input. Monarch Voice promotes direct feedback; therefore, issues are brought up much faster so a solution can be reached in a timely manner. Students do not have to wait long periods of time for issues to be noticed and fixed. By using the design thinking process (Inspiration, Innovation, Inquiry) to receive, organize, and solve problems in a small amount of time, Monarch Voice is an asset that Old Dominion University will need to build an even better relationship with the ODU community.
