The ACT

The ACT is a college entrance exam that is used primarily by colleges to assist them in determining admission and scholarship criteria for students.  We encourage students who are interested in attending college to take the ACT exam during their junior year and to plan to take the test at least twice.  A lot of colleges have gone test optional for admissions in recent years, meaning that students can be admitted based solely on their high school GPA and not based on test scores but keep in mind that many institutional scholarships will still require a test score in order to be eligible.

In order to register for the exam, students must complete an account at www.actstudent.org.   Students eligible for the Free/Reduced Meals Program are able to receive a fee waiver to cover the cost of the exam fees.  You must obtain the fee waiver from the Counseling Office prior to registration.

Below are the test dates for the upcoming school year.  All test dates, except July, are administered at OHS.  Students are able to register at other test centers if needed.
