The ACT is a college entrance exam that is used primarily by colleges to assist them in determining admission and scholarship criteria for students. We encourage students who are interested in attending college to take the ACT exam during their junior year and to plan to take the test at least twice.
Even though many colleges are now test-optional for admissions, taking the ACT can still open important doors for you—especially when it comes to scholarships and college course placement. A strong ACT score can qualify you for thousands of dollars in merit-based aid and help you avoid taking remedial classes in college. See the list of all the ACT test dates and registration deadlines for this school year. If you want to take the exam at OHS, we will offer both the computerized and paper versions of the ACT in October, December, and April. I encourage all juniors and seniors to take advantage of this opportunity and set themselves up for success after graduation!
To register online for the exam, please visit www.actstudent.org to create your account and sign up! Students who are Free/Reduced Lunch eligible are able to receive a fee waiver for the test exam fees. Please reach out to Mrs. Ray if that applies to you.
