At this stage of the cycle, students are participating in / experiencing an activity or event.
During experiential learning opportunities, the emphasis is on the relationships between and among students, teachers, and community members, not the physical location. The experience is not limited to the school or a physical location within proximity to the school. It has the power to provide authentic, dynamic, and engaging learning experiences because it opens the door to elevated teaching and learning opportunities and invites teachers and students to build relationships at the local, national and/or global levels. This section offers online resources which educators can use in the creation of experiential learning programs for face-to-face or distance learning. These resources have been grouped into two categories, those that allow for curriculum exploration and those that allow for pathways exploration. Even though these are divided, educators are encouraged to include both in their experiential learning programs.
Lesson plans and other resource packages are also provided which offer examples of experiential learning programs that can be used or adapted by educators. The final page in this section offers resources to support educators who are looking to make connections and include their own community partners in their experiential learning programs.
