SEPTEMBER 12, 2025
DEAR ALL SAINTS FAMILIES,
It was a pleasure to see so many of you this week for Meet the Teacher Night. We encourage all of you to stay connected and reach out to school staff anytime you have questions. For those who were unable to attend, there will be many more opportunities to meet teachers on parent/teacher conference nights. We also will host our first Catholic School Council meeting on Monday (more information below).
Just as we encourage families to be involved, we encourage the same for students. The Fall is a great time for students to join a team or club. Students should listen to morning announcements for tryout times and meeting times. We also post information about clubs and activities around the school. For lists of clubs and activities, you can also see the Student Life section of our school website: https://ash.ocsb.ca/student-life. Please join me in thanking the incredible staff of All Saints for giving their time to ensure students have access to a rich selection of extracurricular activities. These opportunities would not be possible without them and their dedication to the All Saints community.
IN THIS UPDATE:
But, what about when students aren’t feeling well?
Sick days happen. For all of us, there are times when we need to stay home to get well and not infect others. These absences should be approved by a parent or guardian by calling the school.
If your child is going to be late, absent or needs to leave school early please call the school at 613-271-4254 and leave the details (student name, grade and time in/out) on the appropriate attendance line.
Dial ext. 625 for grades 7-8
Dial ext. 626 for grades 9-10
Dial ext. 627 for grades 11-12
Being absent when not feeling well, while totally appropriate, is also time away from school that might have a negative effect on academics. Not to worry. Here is a checklist for all students returning to school after 3 or more days of being away that will help keep those grades up!

The Terry Fox Day for grades 7 and 8 is coming up! It will take place on Friday, September 26, during periods 4-6.
During Period 4, students have the option to watch a documentary about Terry Fox's incredible life. After lunch, we will head outside. Those who are able will circulate the course which is the perimeter of our school property.
We encourage students to come to school that day in comfortable clothes and shoes with a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat if the weather is warm. To add to the fun, we will be awarding a prize to the homeroom with the most spirit. Classes can choose a theme or simply wear fun socks in honor of Terry Fox.
We are also holding a School Cash Online fundraiser from Monday, September 15 to Saturday, September 27. Donations of any amount are welcome and can be made online. The rain date for this event is October 3.
We can't wait to have a fun and meaningful day together to support a great cause!

On Thursday, September 18, from 5:45 until 6:45 pm, we are holding a virtual meeting for all guardians and parents of graduating students. If you would like to receive a link to attend, please complete this form.
At the meeting, we will be discussing school sanctioned events for graduates and answering general questions about what students and parents can expect this year. Questions that are not applicable to all graduates should be directed to guidance counsellors or vice-principals.

Please help us in reminding students to secure personal items. Lockers should have a good quality, combination lock that is fully closed and locked when students are not at their locker. Bikes should be in the bike racks, secured with a lock.

Our first meeting will take place at 7:00 pm on September 15, 2025 in the Learning Commons of the school. At this meeting, we will be electing the Catholic School Council executive for 2025/26. All are welcome and we hope you can join us! For those who would like to join virtually, please complete this form.

On September 30, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on this day to honour Survivors of residential schools.

Please note: Grade 9 - 12 examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice-Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST.
The dates for RSTs differ from class to class, but in general, they mostly take place in January. The exam dates for first semester are January 22, 23, 26, 27 & 28, 2026.
