Students can register for the event at the registration desk in the school atrium. The registration fee is $20 and we are asking that students do their best to raise $100 each. Our school fundraising goal is $30,000. This is taking place on May 8th at the OZ Dome in Carp. TRAFFIC, TRANSPORTATION & PARKING
Our students’ safety is our top priority, and we need your help to keep our busy arrival and departure times running smoothly. To manage growing congestion and ensure everyone stays out of harm’s way, we ask that you strictly use the designated visitor parking and the official student drop-off/pick-up area. Please follow the instructions on signs and only use safe drop off areas. See this link for a visual of the drop-off and pick up location. Please do not turn right (or west) into the staff parking lot.
Note that the staff parking lot is reserved for permit holders only. We do not have capacity for student parking on school property. The lot on the left (or east) is owned by the city. Only vehicles with a STAFF parking tag can park in the staff lot. All other vehicles will be ticketed.
We also want to remind you that Bylaw officers are actively monitoring the front of the school to ensure traffic regulations are followed. By sticking to the assigned zones and avoiding the staff lot, you’re helping us keep the morning and afternoon rushes safe, efficient, and stress-free for every student.
Most importantly, please be patient and leave yourself extra time when driving to the school during the morning or the afternoon rush. There are 2000+ people all arriving and leaving at the same time, so delays should be expected.

Parents who have been blocked in Compass can regain access by asking their child to log into the student’s portal account and sign the Over 18 - Parent Portal Consent Access. MAYOR & CEO FOR A DAY CONTEST
Applications are now officially OPEN for Ottawa Youth Week 2026’s Mayor 4 A Day and CEO 4 A Day leadership competitions. Secondary school students from across Ottawa and Gatineau are invited to apply.
Mark Sutcliffe – Mayor, City of Ottawa
CEO 4 A Day
• Cyril Leeder – President & CEO, Ottawa Senators
• Stéphane Giguère – CEO, Ottawa Community Housing
• Mark Gowdie – President & CEO, Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group
• Rachel Wilson – CEO, United Way East Ontario
• Birket Foster – Investor & CEO, Storm Internet
• Sueling Ching – President & CEO, Ottawa Board of Trade
• John Liptak – President & CEO, Oakwood
• Darin McCorriston – Founder & CEO, TMSI
Each selected student will spend a full day shadowing one of these leaders, sitting in meetings, learning how decisions are made, and seeing firsthand how our city is shaped.
How to Apply
Students must submit a short application explaining:
• Why they want to participate
• What leadership means to them
• Which leader they are applying to shadow
The process is competitive. Only two students are selected per opportunity.
Why This Matters
Since launching Mayor 4 A Day in 2017, we’ve seen participants go on to:
• Join civic committees
• Volunteer with community organizations
• Step into new leadership roles
• Build long-term confidence and direction
This experience changes how young people see themselves, and what they believe is possible.
Ottawa Youth Week is part of a broader movement celebrated in cities like Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton, recognizing youth leadership across Canada.
Now it’s your turn. Spots are limited. Opportunities are exclusive.
Apply now and take your place at the table:
