Volunteering and Community Service Hours
Any students looking for community service hours should check out the following sources for ideas:
The volunteer binder in Student Services
Your local community centre, religious institution, community organization and sports teas, local charities, etc.
The Rules:
Must be outside of class hours
Must be for a non-profit organization (eg. charitable organization, library, community center, school, hospital, senior centre, community sports, etc.)
You cannot do your hours at a business (eg. store, parent/relative's business, etc.)
If in doubt, check with student services
Up to date information about the OCSB Community Service Hours requirement as well as the form can be found here: www.ocsb.ca/community-involvement/. You must fill this form out, have it signed by the person who supervised your volunteer activity as well as your parent/guardian, and hand it in to the Student Services office to count your hours.
