It is very important for students to check their full year schedules (Semesters 1 and 2). Course changes will be made within the first two weeks of the semester. Based on need, priority and availability.
Schedule should include 8 courses throughout the year.
Grade 12 students who have enough credits to graduate, and to meet post-secondary goals are able to have a maximum of one study period (spare) per semester.
Prerequisites for all courses must be met. If a student has failed a prerequisite course or has not taken the required prerequisite courses over the summer - they will need to ensure to follow the course change process in the first week of school.
Students who need to discuss pathway changes will need to follow the course change process in the first week of school.
Students who have successfully completed a summer school course must also follow the course change request process. Efforts in August will be made to make these changes; however, the course may still be in the current schedule.
If a student requested two grade level courses in the same year (for example, Grade 9 and Grade 10 Math), it is important to ensure that the lower grade level is in Semester one and the other in Semester two. The course change process will need to be followed in the first week of school for any required changes.
All course change requests will be made through the online Course Change Request form which will be made available on this website on September 2nd, 2025. Course change request forms will be made available again at the beginning of Semester 2 for any extenuating circumstances for semester 2 courses. If you wish to discuss pathway changes or any concerns before semester 2, please make an appointment with your guidance counsellor.
Please note that we will be only making the following changes:
Incomplete schedules (less than 8 courses)
Courses required for a pathway change and/or post-secondary requirements
Blanks in schedule and/or replacing a summer school course that has been completed successfully.
Elective changes cannot be made at the grade 9 and 10 levels.
Elective changes at Grades 11 and 12 will need to be discussed with a counsellor and will be accommodated if available.
If a summer school course was taken through the OCSB, or with a school board online (through PRISM), there is no need to provide the school with your final mark.
If a summer school course was taken in another institution, it would be important to share your final mark with Student Services.
