The Immaculata Student Council Association (SCA) is composed of seven students, from Grade 9 through Grade 12, who meet on a regular basis to discuss student needs, share ideas, and plan and organize school events. This year, as students learn through a combination of in-school and online learning, the SCA has been coming up with creative ways to engage the student body, despite everyone not physically attending school together. Throughout the year, the SCA has been sharing information and organizing activities through their Instagram account - @immaculatasca. They have also created the first Immaculata Student Podcast, hosted by, Grade 11 student, Noah Ouellette (the link to which can be found on their Instagram page).
Some highlights of this year have been the multiple spirit weeks the SCA has organized, the virtual guest speakers that they have invited to address the school population, the Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week that they helped run, and a Virtual Spirit Assembly that was held just prior to Christmas break. SCA also collaborates regularly with other student associations to discuss and plan initiatives together.
Though this school year may not look like years past, SCA is committed to encouraging student well-being and reminding everyone that we are one school community and we will persevere through these challenging times together!
