Black Student Association

BSA Welcome Video.mp4

Immaculata's Black Student Association (BSA) is a safe space for students to share their experiences as Black students and a place to be open and part of change. The BSA is here to help educate students on hard topics that occur here in Canada such as racism, segregation, systemic issues as well as police brutality.

The BSA allows students to feel safe and welcomed in their school environment at Immaculata. We accomplish this by taking on various initiatives such as creating powerful displays around the school, organizing special Q&A's with public speakers and creating videos to bring more awareness to our school community about these important and relevant racial issues.

The BSA provides a safe place for Black students to go and a network they can talk to regarding certain issues. Students who are not Black or identify as a POC can also join the BSA as an ally. Allyship means empathizing but knowing you will not be able to share the same experience as someone who is Black. Allies can help to build a great sense of support, inclusion and trust among the student body and are essential in establishing an equitable community. The BSA welcomes anyone who is interested to join.
