Learning Outcome

• C2.2 describe procedures to safeguard data and programs from malware (e.g., viruses, Trojan horses, worms, spyware, adware, malevolent macros), and devise a thorough system protection plan;

Here is the Problem

• You have probably all heard of computer viruses and know they are bad BUT do you really know what kind of bad things they can do and even more importantly how you get them? In this assignment you will investigate various sources of malware so that you can better protect yourself.

• For this assignment, you MUST research the following terms:

1. Virus

2. Worms

3. Trojan horse

4. Spyware

• In addition you MUST research four (4) additional kinds of malware. Refer to “22 Types of Malware and How to Recognize Them” for more ideas. Remember DON'T wait until the day it is due!

• For each of the above terms (as well as the additional 4 terms you choose), answer the following questions:

1. What is it?

2. How can you get it?

3. What can it do to your computer?

4. How do you prevent it from happening?
   
   

• Provide at least two (2) sources in the following bibliographic MLA format:
