Classroom Components

    • The pre-placement component includes, but is not limited to: workplace health and safety, employment law, unions, workplace ethics, human rights and confidentiality.

    • The placement component develops skills and knowledge at the work place that are linked to a curriculum course.

    • The in-school integration component , which occurs throughout the semester, provides students with the opportunity to analyze, share, reflect on their workplace experiences.


Cooperative education allows students to participate in valuable learning experiences that help prepare them for the next stage of their lives, whether in apprenticeship training, college, community living, university, or the workplace.


Please Note: Cooperative education placements can be found by the students and/or parents, but please talk to the co-op department before proceeding. All placements must be finalized and managed by their school and must follow Ministry of Education policy and guidelines.
