Gracious God,
As the light of the Advent wreath shines brightly in this final week of waiting, we lift our hearts to you in hopeful anticipation of Christmas morning.
In the midst of this busy season, help us to answer your call.
Inspire us, as parents and educators, to truly open the doors of our homes and our hearts, making room for true hospitality and welcoming Christ into our daily lives and into the lives of all we meet.
Give us the wisdom and courage to be people who build bridges, extending gestures of solidarity and social friendship to our neighbours and throughout our community, strengthening the bonds of love and reconciliation.
And as the new year approaches, may the joy of the Nativity nourish new beginnings within our school families, fostering a deep and lasting sense of belonging for every child.
Prepare our souls for the glorious arrival of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
As we close the doors on this calendar year and enter the sacred and joyous season of Christmas, I want to extend my deepest appreciation for your unwavering support of our school community.
Your commitment to partnership—whether it's volunteering, supporting classroom learning, or simply ensuring your child is ready to face the day—truly helps us fulfill our mission to "open doors, build bridges, and nourish new beginnings" for every student. We are deeply blessed by your involvement.
On behalf of the entire staff, I wish you and your loved ones a very safe, blessed, and peaceful Christmas holiday. May the joy and hope of the season fill your homes. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year, refreshed and ready for new opportunities.
Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
Mr. Dan Rigley
We've had a recent increase in student and staff illness. Please refer the guidance below from Ottawa Public Health regarding respiratory illness in schools.
We were required to cancel some events last week, but we are continuing with planned events that celebrate the Advent and Christmas Season this week. Be sure to check out the weekly outline of events near the bottom of this page.
We've started a new lunch option for this upcoming week! It is too late to order for this week, but parents can order through School Cash Online before noon on Sunday for the week ahead. Tuesdays (Subway) and Thursdays (Pita Pit).
All of the ordering, payments and tracking will be done through the School Cash Online portal. So simple for parents!
Parents can order on a weekly basis, choosing to opt in or out anytime they wish, and even change orders week to week. All orders for the week are due by noon on Sunday.
Every order makes money for our school, which benefits our students!
Parents have the option to donate to the "Give a Lunch Program" where donations can be used by our school to purchase lunches for students in our school who might benefit.
Orders come delivered to the school, organized by class, and labelled with the student's names.
Perishable food items will be collected on Monday, December 15th.
Forms were sent home last week with students to provide information about "The Caring and Sharing Exchange" project to provide Christmas Food Hampers for those in need. Thank you for you generosity.
We have compiled a list for each class with the forms that were sent back.
You will be contacted to let you know what to bring. Some parents had checked off that they would bring more than one item and we may have given you more items to bring if you were willing.
If you have not yet filled out the form, but are willing to donate items we are still looking for donations especially the $10 gift cards to either Metro or Food Basics. We use these to buy the turkeys and fill in the blanks for baskets that are missing items. Non-perishable food items can be brought anytime next week and Perishable food items will be collected on Monday, December 15th.
Thank you for giving back this Christmas Season.
Blessings to All.
Many Lost and Found Items have accumulated at school. We are hoping to clear it out before the holiday break. Students will be coming by with their classes to find items. Below are pictures of our collection. Be sure to let your children, or the office know if you recognize any items! Remaining items will be donated to charity this Thursday.

Mabel’s Labels: Who doesn't need labels to keep their children's stuff from getting lost? Mabel’s Labels has teamed up with Chapel Hill to provide 20% of your purchase as a donation to our ongoing fundraising efforts. All you have to do is go to mabelslabels.ca, search for and select "Chapel Hill Catholic School (Orleans)" from the list of schools under the "Support a Fundraiser'' tab and the school will receive a donation from that purchase.
