Piano

I get a lot of students interested in learning to play the piano. Many have found quick tutorials online, or those videos with the falling colours, but those often don't teach you real technique and don't set you up for long-term success. Here are some resources for those who are interested in learning piano.

NOTE: Nothing is better for learning piano than studying with a piano teacher. If it's something you're serious about learning the piano and you can afford it, please consider this option first. Click here to search for local private music teachers.

  • Alfred's Adult All-In-One Course - This is a book that you would have to buy in the $20-30 range, but it's well worth the price. It's a comprehensive method that breaks down learning the piano into its fundamentals and it progresses at a pace appropriate for teens and adults. I've used this book with adult students that I've taught.

Here are some YouTube playlists that teach beginner piano. Please note that I have not watched these all through, so I don't know how good they are. I'm providing a few options. Try them out and see what works for you.

Learn Songs

  • PianoKeyz - This channel has a bunch of pop songs, but I like how he teaches them in a way that shows you proper fingering and hand positions.
