Sampulator.com - Similar to Patatap above. Use your keyboard to play the variety of sounds and make cool beats. You can even record and layer to get some pretty complex stuff.
Incredibox.com - A fun beatmaker. Simple to use, just drag "costumes" onto the characters to create a variety of beats. Not much customization besides layering the pre-existing beats.
YouDJ - Free DJ turntable software with access to a bunch of music, samples, and effects. Play two songs at once, fade between them. Great app to play around with some DJing.

Flat.io - Free online music notation. With the free version, you can have up to 15 scores saved. Just point and click to add notes and start making music.
Noteflight.com - Free online music notation. Similar to flat.io. You get 10 scores with the free version.
Musescore - This one is an application that you have to download and install on a Windows or Mac computer. It has a lot more features than the in-browser ones above and is quite powerful.
Mario Paint Composer - This website is more for fun, but you can actually get some pretty legit music out of it. It uses a musical staff, but instead of notes, you have different "character heads". Each head has a unique and fun sound, including some drum sounds and sound effects.
Bandlab - A powerful and feature-rich DAW on all platforms with a library of loops. You can sync your work on your account, share and view other people's creations in their social feeds, and put together audio creations in mulitple tracks pretty easily.
Soundtrap - Very similar to Bandlab. It allows you to collaborate on sessions, record somebody as a podcast, and syncs across multiple types of devices.
Sodaphonic.com - A simple web-based single-track audio editor. You can record straight into the app from your browser using your computer's microphone or import audio an file. Then, you have a limited set of tools to edit the audio: cut/copy/paste, trim, volume fade in/out, bleeping, reversing. Not as powerful as a full DAW, but easy and quick for simple jobs. You can save the files as MP3 or WAV.
GarageBand - A very powerful app for Mac OS and iOS. Record audio, import clips from a vast sound library, or create your own tracks with digital instruments. Then you can manipulate and layer them to create some amazing stuff.
Reaper - A free(ish) DAW for PC or Mac that is very powerful for editing and working with audio. The trial is technically unlimited, so they ask you to pay if you continue to use it past the trial, but you can still use it without paying. Lots of plug-ins and features where you can produce pretty professioal-sounding work.
Audacity - This is an application that you have to download and install on a Windows or Mac computer. With it, you can record or import audio tracks and manipulate, layer, add effects and so much more. You could use it to trim a clip from a song for a ringtone, create a mashup, or produce a whole hip hop track. Very powerful.
Pixlr.com - Completely free online photo editing website, similar to Photoshop. You can edit images, cut out specific parts, layer them, and so much more!
Adobe Photoshop Mix - A powerful phone app that allows you to easily edit, cut and combine images in some very creative ways.
iMovie - Incredible app for video editing, and available for free on any iOS device. Edit and connect video clips with transitions. Easily insert videos into template and draw from a large library for sound, music, and effects.
FilmoraGO - A video editing app for Android devices. Also available on iOS. Lots of features and built-in styles allow you to make an impressive video with a little effort.
WeVideo - A powerful video editing app available in browsers and on mobile. The free version is limited in the features and the amount of video you can edit, but if you log in with your student Gmail, you have access to more features and time.
Concepts - A great digital drawing app with tons of free features and a very intuitive interface. It has layers, an infinite canvas, loads of options that you can customize very easily to fit your style. It's free on every platform. You can buy additional features and extra brushes, but the free version is more than enough to accomplish great things.
Autodesk Sketchbook - A very powerful drawing app which includes tons of brush styles and features. Almost everything is customizable to get it just the way you like. Use layers to create stunning pieces of art. Available on every platform (even chromebooks) and completely free.
Wick Editor - "The Wick Editor is a free and open-source tool for creating games, animations, and everything in-between. It's designed to be the most accessible tool for creating multimedia projects on the web." You can find some tutorials on their main page.
