MTSS is a step-by-step approach schools use to make sure every child gets the help they need to succeed — both in learning and in behavior. Teachers keep track of each student’s progress and use that information to decide if more support is needed.
MTSS is often used to help students in areas like reading, math, and behavior, but it can be used for other needs too. The process is flexible and designed by each school district to best support their students.

Tiered Interventions
Not all students need the same kind of help — and that’s okay. MTSS makes sure students get the right level of support based on what they need. Some may do well with just the regular classroom instruction, while others may need extra help or more intensive support.
Schools use a tiered system to organize these supports, starting with what all students receive and adding more help as needed.
