Google Behavior is a tool used by participating Project AWARE schools to make ODRs (Office Discipline Referrals) electronically via Google Forms. School-based teams can then use the data in a Google Sheet to look at ODR data for students individually, grade-wide, and school-wide across a variety of variables (i.e., time of day, setting). Google Behavior can be accessed by teachers through an school-specific link provided and can be filled out on any electronic device that has access to the link.
Who receives the information from Google Behavior?
The staff member who fills out the Google Behavior form will receive a copy of the form with everything that was filled out. The administration will also receive an email with the same information. This will allow everyone to be provided the same information and to be informed about when problems are occurring with particular students.
How do I fill out Google Behavior?
- The first step is for the staff member filling out Google Behavior to provide their email address, ensuring they receive a copy, the date, and the time the referral occurred (reported in 15 minute increments, i.e. 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, and 10:45), and select the student’s teacher and grade level.
 - The second step is to select the student being referred and to specify if the problem behavior is a major behavior or a minor behavior. A list of students will be provided based on the grade previously selected. If the student in question is not found, double check to make sure the correct grade was selected.
 - After determining if the behavior is major or minor the third step is to describe the behavior.
 - For minor behaviors the staff member will need to identify the location where the problem occurred, the possible motivation of the problem behavior, the consequence for the problem behavior, and if anyone else was involved. For each item that needs to be identified, a list is provided so the staff member will simply need to select the option most appropriate for the situation. The staff member will also have the opportunity to write in any comments or additional follow up at the end if the staff member has other details that need to be provided about the referral.
 - For major behaviors the staff member will need to identify the location where the problem behavior occurred, the possible motivation of the problem behavior, the consequence of the problem behavior and if anyone else was involved. If the consequence of the problem behavior is suspension, the staff member will need to provide the length of time for the suspension. Every half day is represented by a 1 and every full day is represented by 2. So if a student was to be suspended for two full days then the number provided would be 4. The staff member will also have the opportunity to write in any comments or additional follow up at the end if the staff member has other details that need to be provided about the referral.
