Geography Challenge
Each month, starting in November, a map will be assigned to study for the PROJECT EXTRA MONTHLY GEOGRAPHY CHALLENGE. On the last PROJECT EXTRA day of the month, students who wish to participate will be given maps to complete based on the monthly challenge. Top district scorers will be awarded small prizes and will have their names posted on our website and social media sites each month and top district scorers for the year will be awarded trophies.
Because this is an OPTIONAL program, maps will not be distributed in class and may be downloaded below from www.enchantedlearning.com. Blank study maps are also provided below for your child to prepare. These are the EXACT maps used for the Monthly Challenge. If a user name/password is asked for, please feel free to use: angelaabend47878/clear29. If your child does not have internet access, he/she may print maps in class.
Students may choose to participate in one, a few, or ALL of the monthly challenges. This is an OPTIONAL program, so your child may wish not to participate at all! It is your child’s responsibility, if he/she participates, to print maps, study independently (we do not review this material in class), and be aware of when the last PROJECT EXTRA day of the month will be for the Challenge. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to improve geographic awareness, study skills, and time management skills.
