Ocean Dance Company

Mission Statement

Ocean Dance Company is Ocean Township High School’s co-ed dance club. ODC’s mission is to provide an open environment for students in a non-competitive, socially aware environment. Ocean Dance Company will prove that dance enhances the lives of the students and builds community through cultural awareness. The club will be student driven with other choreographic opportunities from OTHS teachers and possible guest artists. The students of ODC will need to be open-minded to work with everyone involved in the group and be willing to accept a role wherever they are cast in a piece. This group will provide performance opportunities for its members and although they are not required to perform, it will be encouraged. We will offer many dance styles to appeal to every student ranging from different abilities and backgrounds while providing a safe and encouraging environment. ODC will build self-esteem, leadership, and cooperation skills to help students appreciate the art of dance.
