The Gifted program will be evaluated annually to reflect upon the accomplishments, strengths and weaknesses of the program with recommendations for improvement. All stakeholders will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on the program, including but not limited to teachers, students and parents.
Professional Development
Teachers, educational service staff members, and administrators will participate in various professional development activities throughout the year about gifted students, their needs and educational development. Many of these activities will focus on how to differentiate instruction for these learners in the classroom. Teachers will also receive additional training on administering assessments and data collection and analysis, as needed. The gifted and talented teacher will also participate in professional development in best practices for meeting the needs of gifted learners. This will also include participation in the Shore Consortium for the Gifted and Talented.
