Our emergency services course is offered in grade 12. Students participate in a variety of exercises, while learning to demonstrate strategies to deal effectively with personal safety, first aid, and accident prevention. They investigate and explore the requirements related to a career in the field of community and protective services.

The IDP4O course prepares students for college programs in police foundations, public safety, pre-service firefighter and paramedic.

This course emphasizes the development of practical skills and knowledge to solve problems, make decisions in the area of Police and Fire Services. Through individual and collaborative inquiry and research into contemporary issues, real-life situations, and careers, students will apply the principles and skills derived from the Emergency Services. They will also learn how to select strategies to define problems, research alternative solutions, assess their thinking in reaching decisions and adapt to change as they acquire new knowledge.
