LDHSS Library Online Catalogue
OCDSB uses library cataloguing software Alexandria. In Alexandria you can search, browse, and reserve, the books in the LDHSS Library collection. To locate a physical book in the library, use the Call Number from Alexandria for the item or ask for help at the library circulation desk.
To log in to Alexandria:
Username = Your Student Number
Password = Your Last Name
Search can be performed using the title, author name, genre, subject, and awards.
Use Explore to see books grouped together by genre.
Check out Browse to see the most recent books added to the collection, as well as the most recently checked out.
Click this icon if you're using a Smartphone to switch to a mobile interface.
Use Status to check your account - your holds, items out, user history, charges, lists, etc.
Passwords
Not a feature used by OCDSB. If you need help accessing resources please see the Library Staff.
Click on Research Options to access databases, statistics, encyclopedias, and other useful links for doing research.

Features Within the Library Catalogue
Share Titles
Click on this to get the URL of the title so you can share it with someone else.
Print Items
Use this feature to make a copy of your search results.
Add to List
Make lists of books you want to check out by using Add to List.
Sort
Use Sort to list items based on relevance, title, author, series, call number, rating, genre, or year.
Filters
Filters will narrow down your search. You can filter results using authors, awards, genres, language, copy location, medium, series, year, subjects, or star rating.
Place Reservation
This feature can be used to place a hold on a book for a specific date and duration.
Place Hold
Use this when the item you want is already checked out to have it held for you when it is returned.
Full Details
This icon is used to view the full catalogue record. This includes things like a summary of the book, the genre, and associated subjects.
