LaurierLive is managed and broadcast by grade 11 and 12 students of Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School, many of whom are SHSM students. During normal times, our primary audiences have been the staff, students and families of our high school, but these are not normal times and we now want to hear from everyone, regardless of where you live in the city. Send us videos, pictures, your artwork and more.
Please read through the instructions below. It will help to clarify the types of files, content we can take, as well as provide upload instructions. If you are still having technical problems, please let us know through an email to:

We would love to host some of your videos, photos, artwork and more on LaurierLive. We are posting new themes each week and encourage you to send us videos and/or pictures that tell your stories. Once we start receiving SHSM student content from across the OCDSB, our plan is to reserve our Friday broadcast uploads for you, under the OCDSB and SHSM banners.
That said, if you have another idea for a video or other you wish to submit that does not fit our weekly theme, don't feel restricted. Send it too.
Important: Please understand that LaurierLive not only publishes under CRTC content rules, but we are a student site for students ; we can only publish content appropriate for high school. If we deem content to be inappropriate, such as music , images, language, we can't run it. Try also to use Copyright free music, if you want a music track. Here are a couple suggestions:
Submission guidelines are included below, and at the very end you will find the email address to which you can send your videos and images.
Content formatting and submission guidelines
Videos: Your videos can be anywhere from a few seconds to 3 minutes in length. Please give us a brief description of your video, your name, your school's name, and the SHSM sector you are enrolled in so that our announcers can properly introduce you and your video. Please insure that your video is sent in MP4 format. If you know what this means, then please make sure your video is no larger than 720p. Also, if you wish to use a soundtrack for any reason, please insure it is copyright free. We don't want Youtube blocking our site, and your work. Here are some places to find music: Incompetec, PurplePlanet, Youtube Audio Library.
Pictures: This can be pictures of you working, or pictures of your work. It can also be a series of pictures. While it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words, please do describe what you are doing, and include your name, your school's name, and the title of your SHSM sector. We will post a link on this page that will point to our Picture of the Day page and let others know it's there during our Friday broadcasts. Please make sure your pictures are in JPG format. If you are contributing a series of images, please number them in the sequence you want them to be shown.
Thank you, and we look forward to promoting and hosting all the contributions from our city's large and dynamic SHSM community.
