In addition to your general announcements, we would love to host some of your videos, photos, artwork and more on LaurierLive!
Submission guidelines are included below.
Log in to your school email.
*Make sure it's your school email, we won't get it otherwise!
Write your announcement into an email and set laurierlive@googlegroups.com as your recipient. Please include all necessary information, including which days you'd like us to broadcast your announcement.
To verify that your announcement went through to us, visit our forum. Your announcement should show up top.
See below below if you are having difficulties.
Deadline 1: The Broadcast Crew will check for announcement posts until 7:50 AM every morning.
Deadline 2: Please bring any late news (after 7:50) to the Broadcasting room in person by 8:10 AM.
Missed Deadline: LaurierLive announcer broadcast scripts are required to be finished no later than 8:10 to allow for Broadcast Run-throughs, which is when we test for equipment and script flow. We may not be able to accommodate your announcements after the 8:10 deadline.
Please set an unique subject line, and include the date of when you want the announcement to be made. if your announcement is relevant over multiple days, please include the how long you'd like the announcement to be made. You may fully script your announcement if there is a specific way you would like the announcement to be read. Otherwise we will script the announcement ourselves.
Your videos can be anywhere from a few seconds to up to 45 seconds in length. Please give us a brief description of your video and your name or organization so that our announcers can properly introduce you and your video. Please insure that your video is sent in MP4 format. If you know what this means, then please make sure your video is no larger than 720p. Also, if you wish to use a soundtrack for any reason, please insure it is copyright free.
While it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words, please do include a description, and include your name. Photos chosen to air on our Photo of The Day segment will also be featured on our website, under our The Creatives tab Please make sure your pictures are in JPG/JPEG or PNG format. If you are contributing a series of images, please number them in the sequence you want them to be shown.
Please send your content to: LaurierLive@googlegroups.com
Important: Please understand that LaurierLive not only publishes under CRTC content rules, but we are a student site for students; we can only publish content appropriate for high school. If we deem content to be inappropriate, such as music , images, language, we will not run it. Please use Copyright free music, if you want a music track. Here are a couple suggestions: Incompetec, PurplePlanet, YouTube Audio Library.
If you do not see your submission in our forums, please try the steps below
Your email may be taking some time reaching us. This can happen when the email is large (example: a video is attached), or there is high internet traffic. Please give it some time. If, after a few minutes, your email still does not show up in our forums, move on to the next step.
Resubmit your email using an unique subject line. When you submit an email with a generic subject line (such as "Announcement for Friday" or "Photo of the day"), it may have become buried far below in the forum under an email of the exact same subject line. To avoid this, please make sure your subject is unique, such as "Baseball announcement for Tuesday, June 3rd, 2024"
Please also be sure that you are using your school issued email (@ocdsb.ca). If you use an email that is not connected to our organization (the school board), the email will be rejected by the system. This is done to prevent spam.
If the size of the email exceeds your provider's size limit (example: OutLook's size limit is 20 MB), your email may never leave its outbox. instead of attaching the files directly, you can upload the files to your Google Drive, and insert the link to the Drive file into the email. Please be sure to set your file link permission to "anyone at the OCDSB" so that our crew members may access the file without having to request access.
If issues persist, please contact Alexander Molnar directly via email or in person.
