This course is devided into two sections, "Hard Tech" and "Soft Tech".
Each section is taught in a different classroom that specializes each area.
The "Hard Tech" portion of this course focuses on hands on activities. Students first go through important safety training and are then introduced to the Design Concept. Through the creation of various projects, students learn to become problem solvers. Learning to prevent and/or to solve problem is a life long skill students will need to succeed in their future career(s).
Using the Design Process, students will be given specific parameters and need to use creative thinking and problem solving skilles to tackle the challenges they are faced with.
Website Design, CAD software (Onshape) This course runs for HALF the semester complementing the "Hard Tech" component. With extensive use of the computers, this course focuses on exploring the digital side of things. 3D modeling using Sketch up and Onshape. saving and exporting files to use with 3D printers, and CNC mills, as well as lazer engraving and cutting.
Students will learn to develop websites to showcase their work as they progress through the course. In addithion they will explore career opportunities and innovations in Trades and Technology
