We all consume "Digital Media" regularly in our daily lives. The Communications Technology course teaches you to BUILD digital media. Students will become PRODUCERS as well as more discriminating consumers of today's digital media.
Students with artistic interests also benefit from the communication technology courses, as it opens up the possibilities of powerful expression through multimedia and new media projects.
In the CommTech program, we develop skills associated with the recording, editing and publishing of Video, Audio, and Graphic media. Students also learn the use of proper equipment (cameras, cranes, lighting, and microphones) and software tools (Adobe Photoshop, Animate, Audacity and Adobe Premiere Pro).
You'll find completed projects published on the McCrae website, on our in-house flatscreen displays, and on 3rd party websites like YouTube and Vimeo.
In the senior level courses, students also work as a crew to mix and record live audio and video events such as the McCrae Coffee Houses.
