An Inclusive, equitable and diverse program:

At Hilson, both our kindergarten and school wide community value and promote an inclusive, equity focused learning environment. We value diverse learning styles, perspectives and ensure our curriculum reflects the diversity we have at Hilson.

Knowledgeable, caring staff:

Our Kindergarten staff have many qualifications and education focused on the Early Years on top of years of experience working in the Kindergarten program. We engage in yearly professional development focused on Early Years learning to remain up to date in our practice.

A Core Day Program:

Hilson follows the Core day kindergarten model, meaning the primary ECE remains with the class all day before transitioning to the aftercare program. We believe this is the best model as it allows for less transitions for students and provides more time to develop relationships with their educators.

Other kindergarten classes in our board often have 2 or more ECEs throughout the day on top of the teacher rotations.
