• We perform at our Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 14th at 7pm in the auditorium.

Welcome to the biggest band in Ottawa!

The Junior Band is comprised of mostly grade 7 students, and sometimes some grade 8s that are just beginning on their instrument.  The sign-up sheet is posted outside Mr. Steiner's room in late October, with the first rehearsal usually happening early in November.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays after school in the auditorium and Fridays in room 123.  Due to size constraints, Friday rehearsals are usually done with only 2 or 3 instrument sections at a time.  Students will be told at the Tuesday rehearsal which instruments will be needed at the Thursday rehearsal.

All grade 7s are welcome to join.  However, percussion students may be asked to audition due to the fact that we have a limited number of open spots for the percussionists.  Those auditioning will be asked to prepare a piece from their book.  If there are more than 150 students signed up, then further auditioning of other instruments may take place.
