For Grade 7s Who Don't Have An Instrument Assigned:
Talk to your parents about where you want to get your instrument from.
School instruments are free, but I am running out of some instruments and so selection is limited. Sharing may be necessary if I run out. Shared instruments cannot be taken home.
Rented/purchased instruments have a monthly or annual fee, but there are no restrictions on choice. The instruments are usually very new and surprisingly affordable.
For percussion, the student must have piano lesson experience and can read music. Renting a bell kit is also required.
The list of instruments you can choose from is here:
Oboe
Flute
Clarinet
Bassoon
Alto Saxophone
Tenor Saxophone
French Horn
Trumpet
Trombone
Baritone
Tuba
Percussion
Descriptions of these instruments are located on this page. A video demonstration of these instruments is on this page.
Instruments can be rented from Long & McQuade.

The Earl of March Intermediate Music Program offers many opportunities for grade 7 and 8 students to not only learn to play an instrument, but also enjoy the experience of performing with various award winning bands and ensembles.
EOM students participate in two 40 minute classes of instrumental music in a 5-day cycle where they learn the basics of playing an instrument.
Earl of March also offers students the opportunity to perform with a Junior and Senior concert band, 2 jazz ensembles and various small ensembles. Under the direction of Kerry Steiner and Katharine Hardiman, these bands have participated in various school concerts, regional/national competitions and field trips to further enhance their musical abilities.
