Leigh Academy Oaks- Principal's Bulletin
3rd October 2025
3rd October 2025
Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been another busy week at Leigh Academy Oaks that started with all of our pupils looking smart and photo ready. It was great to see all of our pupils, even our youngest, not shy away from the camera. With that in mind, please do take the time to read through our uniform expectations for the academy to ensure what your child wears is appropriate.
We have also been privileged to celebrate the achievements of one our pupils this week with something they have completed outside of the academy. Be sure to check this out on our 'Celebration' page. If you want to share any achievements your children have outside of the academy, please do, so that we can congratulate them in the academy and within the newsletter.
I was surprised to see many pupils in the academy today without a coat. Please ensure that as the weather is changing and becoming colder and wetter that your child has a waterproof coat with them. Our pupils will still go outside during breaktimes in light showers, so a coat is really important.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr L Coulson
Trainers are not permitted as school shoes.
At Leigh Academy Oaks, we take great pride in the appearance of our pupils and expect all members of our academy to adhere to our uniform standards.

Please ensure that all uniform is named and checked regularly.
Our Key Date Document can be found here. This is a working document which will be added to.

We appreciate that parking around the academy is limited and it can be difficult to find a space. However, please do not park; on double yellow lines, on the junctions, over dropped kerbs or the yellow zig-zag markings near our gates. Parking in the areas creates dangerous crossing conditions for our pupils, their families and our wider community.
Please check your MCaS app to view communication regarding swimming for Years 6.
We are proud to work in partnership with parents to encourage the children to understand what healthy eating means and how it can be achieved through academy meals and packed lunches. We ask that parents support the academy to help pupils establish good eating habits, by providing a ‘balanced’ and ‘nutritious’ packed lunch. Pupils must have water in their water bottles. When packing fruit in lunchboxes or for morning snacks, please remember to cut smaller, rounder fruits such as grapes and tomatoes, into quarters to reduce the risk of choking.
You can view the lunch options and order your child's meal via MCAS app. If your child has an appointment and are not in for the morning register, you must ensure that you order their lunch via the app.
Parents and carers are asked NOT to use their mobile phone whilst on the academy site. Members of staff will politely request you to end calls on the academy site. The use of mobile phones on site also extends to taking photographs and videos.
Please remind your child to park their bike or scooter carefully to maximise space. We know the shed is right beside the entrance gate, and this area can get congested quickly so please move along as soon as possible to allow the flow of families in and out.
As the colder and wetter weather draws nearer, you may wish to send your child into the academy wearing the above mentioned items. We kindly ask that they are labelled with your child's name so if they become lost, they can be returned to the correct owner.
After school clubs for children in years 1 to 6 have started and will run until Thursday 12th December. As places for clubs are limited, please ensure your child wants to attend the club they are signed up for using the My Child At School app.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook to keep informed with updates and photos about what's happening during the school week.
