We are thrilled to share an update on our pupils' Personal Development and Wellbeing work at school.
Previously, this learning was collated by pupils in their Profile for Success booklets. Due to rising costs in printing these, we were looking for an alternative and sustainable approach for pupils to record and reflect on their personal development growth at Oaks.
As all pupils (from Y1 - Y6) have Chromebooks and are becoming increasingly proficient in their information literacy skills using technology, pupils from Y3 to Y6 now have their own Google site to record their personal development journey.
We are immensley proud of our Personal Development and Wellbeing support at Oaks. All pupils have opportunities for taking part in learning around Community, Charity and Careers. Pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 have invaluable experience through the Pupil Employment Scheme. Our pupils choose charities to raise money for, significant days to support and celebrate, as well as a range of global learning opportunities engage in.
Personal Development links perfectly to our ethos and values as an IB PYP school, where pupils are at the heart of learning, where they have agency and where they take meaningful action. Children at Oaks have a voice in how school can be developed to support their wellbeing. Each pupil site will be a celebration of this.
Areas that all pupils will reflect on, are listed in the image.
These are the same headings from Y3 to Y6 and their reflection evidence will develop as their site is worked on over their time in KS2, with a new page for each academic year.
When pupils leave Oaks, this will serve as a valuable and beauitiful reminder of how they developed as a pupil and a learner during their time with us.
