Leigh Academy Oaks- Principal's Bulletin

Dear Parents & Carers, 

It has been a real pleasure to welcome our pupils back into the academy following the Christmas break. Despite returning to some very cold winter weather, it has been wonderful to see the academy once again filled with warmth, energy and enthusiasm as pupils settled quickly back into their routines.

I have been incredibly impressed by the amazing learning that has already taken place during the first week of this module. Children have been demonstrating their Learner Profile Attributes and Approaches to Learning by engaging with their new 'Central Ideas' (inquiries) as part of our IB PYP Inquiry learning. You can read more about our IB PYP learning on the linked page and see what Inquiry learning your child is doing this term here.  Our corridor display boards were installed at the end of last module and staff have added last module's PYP inquiry learning to these. You can view them here and get a taste of the real-life engaging inquiry learning your children collaborated on.  

Last week, we had Science-themed days on Thursday and Friday that showcased curiosity, creativity and excellent engagement across the academy. Pupils embraced activities with enthusiasm, demonstrating a real passion for learning and a willingness to challenge themselves from the very start of the module. 

I am also delighted to welcome Mr Dix to the academy as our new Year Five class teacher. Mr Dix has already made a very positive start, quickly building strong relationships with pupils and becoming a valued member of our academy community. I am confident that his enthusiasm, dedication and passion will have a positive impact on learning in Year Five and I look forward to the contribution he will make as the year progresses.

Academy Uniform 

Trainers are not permitted as school shoes. 

At Leigh Academy Oaks, we take great pride in the appearance of our pupils and expect all members of our academy to adhere to our uniform standards.
