Apropos my passion for physiology and cancer biology, I am pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with the overarching goal of improving the quality of life for patients with cancer cachexia. I will take advantage of every opportunity and resource presented to me in these next few years to grow as a learner, researcher and human. I recognize the weight that this experience holds, and is a stepping stone to advancing the future of medicine.

After completing my undergraduate journey here at OU and finishing my Honors College thesis, I decided that I wanted to pursue a graduate degree in genetic research. My previous research experience from Dr. Wendell's lab and passion for science will continue to support and motivate me as I navigate the next 2 years. My study of interest is looking into the genetics and epigenetics of ribosomal DNA and the potential association with copy number variants.
