World Health Organization

The OUMUN Secretariat has established the following topics for consideration in the World Health Organization: 

• Thawing permafrost and global health security 

• The influence of climate change on mental health  

Following the United States' official withdrawal from the WHO in January 2026, the delegation from the US is accorded observer status (by courtesy) in the WHO Committee. The United States may participate in debate, but is limited to voting on procedural matters governing the mechanics and flow of committee. While the United States may draft and co-sponsor resolutions, as an observer it is not permitted to vote on their passage.
