Coastal Hazard and Environmental Reconstruction Lab

Welcome!

We are dedicated to innovative multi-disciplinary research in sedimentology, natural hazards, Quaternary paleoenvironments, palynology, and geochemistry.

Main objective - Reconstructing paleoenvironments with emphases on climate, hydrology, and natural hazard (hurricanes, tsunami) activity regimes.

Local, regional, and global research

Field sites have included The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Florida Everglades, Louisiana, Texas, Mexico, and the Great Lakes. We are always looking to expand into new and exciting areas to explore modern environmental issues that are challenging and contain societal relevance.

Innovative and multi-proxy methodologies

We implement innovative geological, biological, chemical, statistical, and geospatial techniques. Additionally, we are always seeking to improve our field methodologies through improvements in sediment core extraction.

Commitment to scholarly activities

We are committed to actively presenting at professional conferences and publishing peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
