SUPPLIES - Students are expected to have a charged district provided device OR home computer/tablet. This should have a working camera and microphone. It will need to be charged for at least 5 hours of use, each day. Students benefit from an environment with as few distractions as possible and headphones.
GRADES - Grades will be checked once per week. Students will complete a “Grade Check” sheet by writing down any assignments they are missing for all of their classes. All work for the day will be posted on Google Classroom. All work not completed in class will be the responsibility of the student to complete at another time. All assignments are due at 11:59 on Sunday night. Assignments are graded in a timely fashion and returned to students every Friday. If a student is missing an assignment, they are given a 0.
LATE/ MISSING WORK - All late work is given one grade lower, a zero is given for missing work, and if work is incomplete it will be returned to the student and must be redone and resubmitted in order to get a grade.
OFFICE HOURS - If a student needs help, they need only ask. We are available by e-mail or ParentSquare/StudentSquare.
ABSENCES / TARDIES - Students are given one day for each day that they are absent (students are responsible for making up the work that they have missed, check the calendar!). Teachers will keep track of tardies. If a student reaches the 4th tardy, a discipline referral will be sent to the office.
ASSESSMENTS - Tests are given as needed and are arranged between teachers to minimize overlap. There are no retakes on tests, however test corrections are available to help students. These will be listed as “Test Corrections” on Infinite Campus and are worth 0 points. Dates are posted in advance.
HOMEWORK - Homework will generally not be assigned for classes other than math. The only homework required will be work that was not completed in class or studying for upcoming tests. Reading for pleasure on a regular basis is highly encouraged!
DISCIPLINE - Students are given three strikes – via chat, verbal (contact home), and referral and removal from class. If the third strike is reached a referral will be sent to the Principal and Assistant Principal. The expectations and consequences are outlined and posted in our Google Classrooms. If a student is removed from the classroom, they will be allowed to return the next time the class meets, but they are still expected to complete the work for the day that they missed.
