Who are we? 

Te Upoko Maori Wardens are a collective of Maori Warden districts forming a super district spanning the lower north island with 150+ Maori Wardens across 5 sub districts those being: 

Te Upoko Maori Wardens have the ability to flex up in specific areas to provide targeted support, resources and man power to assist during any event, emergent situation or natural disaster 


Maori Wardens contribute much much more to the communities they serve than meets the eye. You'll often find them at local tangihanga (funerals), Parking and Security at local events or walking the community beat interacting with members of the public and keeping a watchful eye for crime or disorderly behaviour. 


Did you know that your local Maori Wardens do much much more than you think. Our Te Upoko Maori Wardens are involved in multiple organisations with a large area of coverage and a large service offering.

Our Leadership

The Executive Leadership Team for Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui Maori Wardens Collective is a group of highly competent and experienced individuals who are committed to the success of the organisation. They provide strategic direction, oversee operations, and ensure that the collective's mission and values are upheld. The team comprises of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise, who work collaboratively to achieve the collective's goals. OUR MISSION

To work collectively and collaboratively to share the kaupapa of Nga Watene Maori, through serving our communities and the people of Aotearoa by working intricately with partners and allied agencies to meet and exceed the need of our whanau, hapu, iwi, most vulnerable communities and rangatahi. Enhance the mana and protect the welfare, needs and concerns of our communities.
