All students are required to contact the Office of Outbound Services, which provides guidance on visa requirements for global field intensive programs. It is the student's responsibility to complete the necessary steps to obtain all required travel documents prior to departure. Domestic and international students should contact ogs.outbound@nyu.edu to confirm visa requirements based on both citizenship and travel itineraries. However, here are some general guidelines:
🚨Updated 10/15/24🚨:
All students attending the campus will now require a Student Visa for the program regardless of citizenship. In the past, US and Canadian students were able to attend their programs visa free as tourists, but now the Consulate has changed this to make any academic program Student Visa required (approx. US$150).
To confirm also, nationalities listed on the page provided can apply for the visa electronically (no physical submission of documents). All nationalities not listed must apply in person with additional documentation and interview.
General Buenos Aires Visa Requirements Information:
As a preliminary reference, students may use this page to check whether they may need a visa, however they must follow up with the Office of Outbound Services for confirmation.
Visa processing time may vary but can sometimes take up to 45 business days, so students who are aware they need a visa are encouraged to enroll in the course and begin their visa application as soon as they can.
Passports should be valid at least six (6) months after the GFI Program ends (June 2025). Click here for NYU passport services and information.
