Program Overview
Date: March 15 - 22, 2026
**Please note this course will run during spring break and count towards spring enrollment totals.
Instructor: Dr. Recep Karaburun, Clinical Assistant Professor
Course Description: This course is designed to provide hospitality students with an in-depth understanding of the cruise industry, covering operations, management, customer service, and the unique challenges and opportunities of hospitality management on a cruise ship. The program includes two weeks of classroom learning and one week of practical experience aboard a cruise.
Graduate course(s):
TCTM1-GC 3925 Special Topics in Travel and Tourism, 3 credits
TCHS1-GC 3905 Special Topics in Hospitality, 3 credits
MSEM1-GC 2050 Current Issues in Events, 3 credits
** Please note: Upperclassman (Junior and Senior) Undergraduate students are welcome to take the course with permission from their advisor
