Foster User Awareness and Engagement

Broaden and deepen engagement between the Division of Libraries and our user communities by raising awareness and use of our collections and services

The Division of Libraries has a rich and robust collection and service portfolio designed to enable users across the globe to work more productively, more effectively, and more creatively. By raising awareness of our collections and services and the impact they can make, we strive to ensure that users are able to work to their full potential. To do so we will use targeted outreach and marketing, sensitive to differences among diverse user groups; ensure that our tools and methods are well documented, widely publicized, and easily accessible; listen attentively to users in order to identify areas of need; and position our services conveniently into their environments.

Outcomes:

    1. NYU’s diverse, global students and faculty are knowledgeable about and well able to utilize as many of our resources and services as they need.
    2. NYU faculty, students and researchers easily understand and take advantage of the range of specialized consulting services available to them and make frequent use of a well publicized selection of methods and tools.
    3. A team actively works cross-division to raise awareness of the full spectrum of our services and collections among our diverse user communities and our staff.
    4. We strategically embed information in the areas where users work, effectively raising awareness of collections, services, and resources at their point of need.
    5. Our diverse user communities feel a strong connection to the Division of Libraries’ collections and services through seamless, unmediated experiences.
