Our Interest & Purpose
The Safe Futures Lab develops, implements, and evaluates applied, strategic, family-focused interventions to prevent child maltreatment.
Preventing child maltreatment is a public health priority - affecting more than 600,000 children in the U.S. alone each year and leading to lifelong adverse biopsychosocial outcomes. The lab focuses on research on developing, and optimizing interventions, as well as the implementation of those interventions in applied community settings.
All of our lab members are committed to the prevention of child maltreatment with a perspective of inclusion, cultural sensitivity, representation, and health equity.
