XIAOJIN "JIN" NIU (She/her) is a theatre artist, educator, and researcher from Jinan, China. She worked as a theatre teacher at various schools and organizations in both New York City and China. While working at these places, she was in charge of developing and teaching theatre curriculums, as well as writing and directing student performances. Xiaojin also performed in various theatre performances. Some of the NYC theatre productions she participated in include How We GLOW, The Good Soul of Szechuan, Peter and the Starcatcher. Xiaojin is currently an Ed.D. candidate in the Educational Theatre program at NYU.
QIAN "SARA" WU (she/her/hers) earned a BS & MA from the Program in Educational Theatre at NYU Steinhardt. She is a theater maker & educator, stage performer, & film actor. Sara is originally from Shanghai, China, & is passionate about researching the experiences of international student communities. She believes that theater is powerful & is excited to share her artistic, social, & cultural perspectives through educational theater.
EMILY SCHORR LESNICK (she/her/hers) is an educator, facilitator, and theatre maker living in Seattle, WA. Emily received her MA in Educational Theater from NYU Steinhardt in 2016. She is the co-creator of How We GLOW, a piece of interview theater exploring lgbtq+ youth identity that has been performed across the country and world. Emily’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, NBC News, Parent Map Magazine, ArtsPraxis Magazine, The Huffington Post, and NAIS Magazine and Blog.
Rita Liu is an art creator, mover, and healer from Taiwan. Originally an actor, Rita has emerged from COVID-19 as a performing artist and creative workshop facilitator. Her work often plays with the juxtaposition between movements and text-based soundscapes. She is now on a journey collaborating with non-theatre people and inviting them to participate in creations. Rita holds a Master's degree in Educational Theatre from NYU, and you can find her at rita-liu.com
Rai Arsa Artha is glad to be returning to the Gaggle 雁 鸣 team. He is an alumnus of NYU’s Educational Theatre undergraduate program and is currently pursuing his MSEd in Educational Theatre K-12 at CUNY City College. Past Steinhardt credits include Of a Certain Age, The Miracle Worker, and Peter and the Starcatcher (Asst. Music Director). Rai currently directs and teaches theatre with organizations including East Ramapo School District, NJPAC, BergenPAC, and Rockland Theatre Company.
