In 2017, SPS Global Village became an annual event. Along with the celebration of cultures, performances, and food, it also featured the "Art for Change" fundraiser to educate underprivileged children in Pakistan.
Countries featued were China, Colombia, Cote d'lvoire (Ivory Coast), Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and Vietnam.
"Art for Change" was originally held as an auction in the Fall of 2016 to raise funds for the Ghani Welfare Foundation. The event garnered an overwhelming response and it was transformed to be part of the SPS Global Village in 2017. Over 200 pieces art created by Pakistani children were on display and available for purchase by patrons of the 2017 Global Village. $10 for a painting educated a child in need! The event raised $3,248.30
This event was spearheaded by SPS student leader, Usman Ali.
