HPC Projects
General Info
In order to increase the visibility of the great work happening at NYU HPC cluster, we will utilize a new "HPC Projects" workflow.
"HPC Projects" workflow will increase capabilities to make data-driven decisions for the HPC team, HPC account sponsors, NYU research administration, and administrators at individual NYU Schools.
Most important impact on HPC users:
When submitting a slurm job, a user must specify a specific slurm account associated with a particular HPC project and resource.
If user provided an account he is not authorized to use slurm job will not run
At the current initial stage, users may still submit jobs without specifying an account.
RIT Projects Portal
The Portal enables users to find the slurm account they need to use, as well as register, manage, and monitor usage associated with HPC to those who are authorized to do so.
Note: RIT Projects Portal also enables NYU Private GenAI.
If interested, you can read more and request access here: Private Generative AI Pilot (nyu.edu). If approved, you will be instructed on how to proceed.
Roles at RIT Portal
Depending on your role, you will see the corresponding interface at the Portal.

You can register an HPC project if you are a full-time faculty and sponsoring a currently active HPC account for research or instruction.
If you are a part-time faculty teaching a course, please get in touch with hpc@nyu.edu to add you to the list of instructors allowed to create an HPC project.
