Arya Samrit (Masters Student)
Artist Name: Silas Sui
"Fishwave" is a fusion jazz track by Silas Sui, marking his studio recording debut. Recorded at Studio A on the 8th Floor, the session was produced, recorded, and mixed by Arya Samrit and Alan Chao. Thoughtful yet minimal microphone choices captured a sound that feels natural and true to the performance. This recording is a classic example of less is more.

This live session, featuring Tony Moreno's Students, was recorded with the full ensemble performing together in the same room—capturing the energy and spontaneity of a true live performance. (The vibraphone was recorded in an isolation booth.)
What you’re hearing is the Live Console Mix straight from the SSL Duality desk—no overdubs, no post-production polish, just the real sound of the room.

“Lumin” is a bass-driven techno track with hypnotic acid elements. The main bassline was made using the Erica Synths DB-01, giving it a raw and direct feel. Inspired by artists like Rrose and Kangding Ray, the track blends experimental sound design with steady techno grooves.
Cherin Kim (Undergrad Student)
This song was originally a pitch for a reality competition for a K-pop group debut. All the musical elements and mixing are completed on Ableton. The instrumental track was first completed by me, then Andrew (Mtech Grad Alumni) and I wrote the melody together. Vocal was recorded by Andrew, and I mixed it.
Samuel Watsham (Undergrad Student)
Artist: :english
Recorded vocals on SM7B into Volt 2 interface and the rest is entirely digital. I did a lot of frequency manipulation and fine tuned many aspects of the song so I'm curious on the professional opinion in relation to the way the listener will interact with the different aspects of the production.

Percussion Ensemble recorded in 5.1.4 with Decca 3D spatial mic array, mixed for Dolby Atmos.
Terrence McManus (PhD Student)
"It’s a Trio" was written for three electronic instruments and is inspired by music from the dawn of the synthesizer. "It's a Trio" is a serial composition in two sections. Section one features a “moving” sixteenth note figure that is juxtaposed against triplets; the sixteenth note figure sounds like it is moving from instrument to instrument. Section two features intact and broken quintuplet figures that are juxtaposed against figures of three and six.
