Agile project management involves breaking down a project into small, manageable parts called "sprints" and using frequent feedback loops to refine and adjust the project as it progresses. This approach allows for more flexibility and adaptability than traditional project management methods, which often rely on strict planning and execution processes.
Project managers in Agile environments often serve as facilitators, providing guidance and support to team members rather than dictating tasks and timelines. In this project, as the project manager, Lindsey supported the team by communicating between stakeholders and team members, organizing meetings and agendas, and checking in with team members regularly to make sure Expats were on the right track.
Overall, this project is designed to deliver high-quality results quickly and efficiently, while allowing for greater flexibility and responsiveness to changing project requirements and customer needs.
We use Figma and Figjam to brainstorm ideas, create project timeline, and connecting dots between our work.
We hold regular meetings each week. We will use when2meet to generate a meeting time that is available for everyone and conduct the meeting via Zoom.
We use SLACK for communication, including concerns, ideas, frequent feedback, as well as reporting progress.
All team members will fill out the when2meet form to select their availability. When2meet will automatically show the time frame that is available to the most people in dark green. Then, we will meet during that time.
The meeting agenda and link will be sent out before the meeting on SLACK. It provides transparency and objectives, ensuring that everyone knows what we will be focusing on and better prepare for the meeting, which leads to effectiveness.
We will discuss our timeline and break down tasks during the meeting. The PM will create a timeline, tasks, and to-do list in Figjam for better visualization. We also use Figjam to brainstorm ideas and connect dots between them.
During the meeting, we generate all the rough ideas into Figma or milestone documents. After the meeting, we will still need to polish them. The PM will send out a recap of what we have discussed in the meeting, what tasks are broken down, and how those tasks are assigned, and pin the message in the SLACK channel. Team members will be tagged after their tasks, and it will appear in yellow on their SLACK so that they can easily identify their responsibilities. While working remotely, we also use SLACK to discuss, give feedback and report progress.
