This machine learning workstation computer is located in the South Faculty office, and is available for ITP/IMA community members to use on projects which require a graphics card (GPU). This computer has (2) NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPUs, each of which has 48 GB of VRAM and an Intel(R) Xeon(R) w9-3495X CPU with 512GB of RAM.
This workstation has been used for projects including the following:
Fine-tuning text, image or audio generation models on custom datasets,
Training 3D reconstruction models (neural radiance fields or Gaussian splats) from photos,
Running inference on text-generation models and integrating the results into other software packages.
If you have a project which you believe could benefit from such a computer, please note the following:
This computer is only available on the NYU network (including the VPN for remote access),
This computer is set up as a 'headless' server, meaning that it is not set up with a monitor and keyboard.
You can access the computer using a web browser using JupyterLab (which is quite similar to Google Co-Lab) and run your projects through Python notebooks or directly through a command line interface.
