Recruitment Day Liaison Groups
All Recruitment Days attendees will be put into groups with three or four other new HESA students and two (or three depending on who we get) liaisons. Matches are made based on your areas of professional interest indicated on the liaison interest form. Your liaisons will serve as a contact and resource for you prior to, during, and after Recruitment Days. They will be reaching out to you, so please be on the lookout for communication in the near future. In addition to contacting the Recruitment Chairs, feel free to forward any questions you may have to your liaisons.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear?
Thursday, March 10th is your day to learn about the program and meet current students, alumni, and faculty, so we recommend business casual attire. Friday, March 11th is the day of the actual interviews, so please dress in what you would wear to a formal job interview. We also recommend finding a place in your dorm/apartment/home that is quiet, as interviews will be online and may be scheduled back to back.
You will be updated if there are any other format changes before Recruitment Days begins.
What are some of the positions that I may be interviewing for?
We have structured Thursday evening so that you may prepare and ask questions about your options. You will also have the opportunity to attend a mixer with current students to learn more about the program, interview process, and current/past internship sites. To give you an idea, [enter example link] of internship sites currently occupied by full-time HESA students.
When will I receive my interview schedule?
We are hard at work preparing interview schedules for each prospective student. Because of the large number of students and internship sites invited to Recruitment Days, matching students with appropriate interviews it can sometimes be a lengthy process. You will receive your individualized schedules on Thursday afternoon, following the Alumni Panel. In the meantime, we encourage you to practice a 30-second "elevator speech" so you have a clear idea of how you want to start each interview (these interviews are for an internship only; there is no additional interview with the HESA program/faculty).
What happens after Recruitment Days?
Prospective students will be asked to submit their preferences for the internship sites with whom they interviewed. Internship sites will also rank the students they interviewed. The HESA program coordinators will match students and sites based on their mutual rankings. If you get an offer from an internship site you have also been accepted into the HESA program. The timeline for students to hear back may vary, so if you do not hear back immediately, it does not mean that you did not get into the program.
