This study introduced two conceptual frameworks to our field: Interactive, Constructive, Active, and Passive tasks; and learners' approaches to Virtual Exchange. Results revealed that interactive and constructive tasks influenced language learners' behavioral and cognitive engagement, mediating the correlation between these task types and learners' deep approach to virtual exchange.
