Please take the time to look at just some student projects from the last couple of years.
Revolutions: Ideal Society
What I did in this project was to look at problems we’re having as a society and come up with solutions for a society I created. I figured out how the economy, schooling, health care and general plans etc would work.
For the final product in this project I made an advertisement for the society. The main goal and slogan is “To make the human experience less miserable.” Some of the things this society has to accomplish is world peace, reforestation, a low crime rate, better waste disposal, and a safer environment for our growth as a species.
About Me - Original Shoe Design
My intention while making this project was to capture my love of shoes and personalize them to tell something about me. I knew that I wanted to customize shoes but I didn’t know what to paint on them so I made a mood board to help get inspiration. While looking through pinterest finding inspiration I saw a pair of shoes that were inspired from the one of my favorite horror movie series Child’s Play. I thought that both shoes being the same would look cool, but I wanted to make something different. Taking inspiration from those shoes I sketched out one shoe to look like Chucky and the other shoe to look like Tiffany. I designed the shoes to look similar but not be the same. While designing the shoes I wanted to add lots of textures so I glued denim and lace fabric to the shoes.
While brainstorming what to do for my project I decided to design a pair of shoes because I love shoes and being creative. Through some research on what materials are needed and lots of sketching I decided to paint the shoes to look like the two “main” characters from the Child’s Play movies. I was debating on making the shoes look only like Chucky, but I thought it would tell the story better if I made them the different characters from the movie. I also wanted to add some textures to make it look more interesting/give it more depth, so I glued denim jeans and lace fabric to the shoes. There were many challenges to making the fabric stick to the shoes, but I am glad I did not give up because the fabric adds to the shoe making it look better.
